The diamonds grown under the artificial means is subjected to two different methods as according to brilliant earth. The two processes that helps in the formulation of the diamonds are:
High Temperature and High Pressure (HTHP): This is the process in which the diamonds are made by replicating the same level of pressure and temperature. In natural ways, the diamonds are subjected to a high pressure and temperature, before it can come to the surface of the earth. The same pressure and temperature are given to the particles of real diamonds in a chamber. The diamond crystals that are placed in a chamber full of carbon is subjected to a pressure of 1.5 million pounds per square inch along with a temperature of 2000 degrees. In such high conditions of temperature and pressure, the carbon around the diamond crystals melts and helps in the formulation of the synthetic diamonds. With time, there have been much advancement in this process with many benefits and improvements.
Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD): This is another method for the formulation of artificial diamonds. The method revolves around growing synthetic diamonds with the help of hydrocarbon gas mixture. In this method, a diamond crystal or seed is subjected a heated chamber. The chamber is heated at around 800 degree Celsius. The sealed chamber is then filled with a mixture of carbon rich gas along with other gases. The next step is then to ionize the molecular bond in the gases using microwaves or laser techniques. The breaking of the molecular bond of the gases makes the carbon to get collected around the diamond crystal and then to slowly cause the formulation of synthetic diamonds layer by layer.
